Whew! I went to see this in the cheap seats just in time.
I dunno...maybe it wasn't quite worth 4 stars but it just
seemed mean to give it a ***3/4 . And I thouroughly
had myself a good time(not to mention a few good laughs)
at this one. Okay, okay and I have crushes on M.R and
J.A. and I had one on K.C. in grade 6(Robin Hood: Prince
of Thieves). So what did I enjoy about this movie....
-Surprisingly I enjoyed Shirley MacLaine as the Grandma.
-I really liked Jeff's(Mark R)stand on being a fiance,
and how they made a real commitment to each other.
Sometimes it seems like they forgive and forget too fast
in movies and while lots of other aspects of the movie
were far from realistic, this one was right on. (Even if
he did run right down the stairs and forgive her and
take her back after his little speech.)
- On the other end of the spectrum, it's so much fun
when people in movies get whisked away to a millionaires
house with the royal treatment for a few days. It looked fun.
-Jen's eye rolling at her blonde little sister. Her sister is
not really like my younger sister, kim, but we definately
both roll our eyes at them the same way(sorry kim, my only
blog reader! please keep reading.)
-I liked their dad.
-That they didn't overuse S& G on the soundtrack.
-The little disclaimer they had during the credits: "No real
people are portrayed in this film. This is a fictional film,
inspired by something that supposedly happened a long time ago."
You should maybe see this if you have acutally seen
the graduate or read the book. I mean it could still be
entertaining if you haven't, but it would just be better
for you. You would get more of the jokes. (But my Don
didn't do either and he still liked it, so there you go.)
