As I said to my sisters boyfriend when
they came in on us watching this movie,
"This is what happens when you rent
every movie in the movie store, you end
up renting a Hillary Duff movie." But
just like Lindsay Lohan, this was "pre"
all the crazy press about her and her
weirdness (plastic surgery at 17?!?)...so I
didn't mind it. Anyways...one good thing
I have to say for this movie, is that there
was no swearing, scantilly dressed teen
aged role models or sexual implications.
It was, I would say, a great family movie,
or at least a great-mother-and-young-
daughter-movie. Apart from the absolutely
unrealistic life they live with a mother
who is a baker and can afford a wonderful
3 bedroom apartment with hardwood
floors and 'character' as the mom puts it
in the movie. I also noticed they have more
than one computer, cell phones and the
latest fashions all on a baker/cake decorator
salary. But you know what, if it is 8 and 10
year old girls watching it, it is fun to have
dreams of a 'cool' room, a 'cool' mom and
a cute boy who likes you. If you are a 25 and
27 year old 'girls' watching it, we just might
not have the same dreams/goals. ha ha ha.
But you know, when I was 14, I did dream
of being a cake decorator...perhaps I should
take that up so I can live the upscale life....
I think I listed all my recommendations above!
Well anyways, to watch this movie without
feeling depressed that you have indeed rented
a hilary duff movie, you should:
-be between 7 and 14
-be a female
-like to....dream
-have rented every other movie on earth first.
